Home sales recorded through the MLS® System of the Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association Inc. posted a large year-over-year gain in January 2015.
Residential sales numbered 63 units in January 2015, a jump of 50 per cent from January 2014. Activity was also running above both the five and 10-year averages for the month.
New residential listings on the Association’s MLS® System totalled 127 units in January 2015, up 3.3 per cent on a year-over-year basis.
There were 359 active residential listings on the Association’s MLS® System at the end of January 2015, down 6.3 per cent from January 2014.
There were 5.7 months of inventory at the end of January 2015, well below 9.1 months reported at the same time last year and below the long-run average for this time information of the year. The number of months of inventory is the number of months it would take to sell current inventories at the current rate of sales activity.
