Home sales recorded through the MLS® System of the Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association Inc. increased compared to a year earlier in March 2015.
Residential sales numbered 102 units in March 2015, up 12.1 per cent from March 2014. This was the highest March sales figure since 2006.
New residential listings on the Association’s MLS® System totalled 235 units in March 2015, down six per cent on a year-over-year basis; this was the lowest level of new listings in the month of March since 2009.
There were 501 active residential listings on the Association’s MLS® System at the end of March 2015, down 2.7 per cent from March 2014.
There were 4.9 months of inventory at the end of March 2015, down from 5.7 months reported at the same time last year and below the long-run average for this time of the year. The number of months of inventory is the number of months it would take to sell current inventories at the current rate of sales activity.
